Here are a few benefits of using Nitrogen in tires:
[1] Nitrogen is denser than Oxygen: This means the larger molecules escape less easily from tires resulting in a more gradual loss of pressure over time. According to the Michelin Tire Manual, a tire that is inflated with Nitrogen loses its pressure 3 times slower than if it were inflated with air.
[2] Nitrogen is moisture free: Pure Nitrogen inflated tires experience less steel belt and rubber degradation. Nitrogen use also reduces valve and wheel corrosion.
[3] Nitrogen provides longer tire life: Nitrogen inflated tire run cooler and require less maintenance according to the Goodyear application bulletin.
We could go on for pages about the benefits but there are entire websites devoted to why you should consider putting nitrogen in your tires. There are clips online from the Discovery Channel's show Daily Planet and Jay Leno. There is no doubt that there is a benefit in changing. But we wanted to do even more for our customers.
We offer additional tire warranty on your existing tires if you switch from air to nitrogen. This program will cover future tire repairs and here is the part we are really excited about. You get road hazard insurance that doe NOT pro-rate your tire for existing wear. Even our Service Manager is willing to purchase the package for his personal vehicles and he has a reputation of being someone that does not part with his money (some say cheap, he says frugal). This program is available even on tires that have over half of their tread already worn off.
